Overview

The HDSI Alumni Association is the official body of graduates from the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute at UC San Diego.

We exist to serve HDSI alumni by facilitating a few key objectives:

  • Connection with alumni to support networks for personal and career growth

  • Connection with current students to improve the program, provide mentorship and guidance

  • Connection with opportunities to open doors and make navigating jobs a smoother experience

Currently our association is focused on hosting fun and useful events to foster and build up our community.

Some recent events include:

  • Panel discussion for current students, presenting experience and advice after graduation

  • In-person alumni mixer for the classes of 2020 and 2021

Is there a membership?

Membership is straightforward, and free! By simply graduating from the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute you are a member of the association and can attend our events!


Who organizes these events?

We have an HDSI Alumni planning committee which organizes and facilitates events, outreach, and funding for this association. We're comprised of alumni and a few key staff at HDSI.


How do I get in touch with other alumni members or the planning committee?

The best way for us to all stay in contact is through our Slack channel. You may also use our LinkedIn or Facebook groups to connect with other alumni on your preferred social/professional platforms.


I have an idea or want to help, can I join the planning committee?

If you have ideas for how to help the committee plan activities you can join us by filling out the interest form and indicating you'd like to be involved with the planning committee (thank you)! You can also let us know on Slack.
